Our Tirsus Research Program on alternative navigation metaphors has received the Degree Project Award 2007 in the Information Technologies category.

Our research group has been honoured by the Vodafone Award to the Best Research Project on Mobile Technologies 2008, thanks to our Oberon project, part of our award winning reseach program (code-named) Vadinia.
The award ceremony will take place next week in the CSIC headquarter in Madrid and it will be given to us by the Spanish Minister of Science and Technology Mrs. Cristina Garmendia Mendizábal.

Our research mate Mónica Vázquez-Goyarzu got her Master of Science in Engineering last week obtaining the maximum possible evaluation rank.
Her thesis dissertation was about a context-aware video game for hand held devices in the scope of our award winning reseach program -code-named- Vadinia.

A scientific research article about our current research on Virtual Synaesthesia, has been included in the printed version of the issue 74 of the Interfaces journal, which is published by The Bristish HCI Group. The online version of this issue will be available soon.
The report shows how augmented reality is able to change our perception of reality and how it can adapt our interaction requirements.

Our group has signed and agreement with the University of Oviedo for the development of the code-named project SIRIO.
The main goal of this project is the development of a context-aware interactive guide for handheld devices which will be used to describe the art and historical features of the main building of the University. The guide will make use of ambiental intelligence and augmented reality techniques.

Our award winning technology GADEA/SEELE will be presented at the ICCHP 2008: 11th International Conference on Computers Helping People with Special Needs, which will be held in Linz (Austria) on July 9-11, 2008.
The proceedings of this conference will be published by Springer and will be available by the end of 2008.

Our Photo Album has been updated with pictures of our Third International Conference on Usability Engineering 2008, which was held in Oviedo this week.
